The Sosnovsky Award of excellence in graduate research 2013

Dr. Sosnovsky is an emeritus Professor in our Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. He is supporting outstanding students in their final years of their PhD work.
Megan has worked with me together during the last four years and created an incredible body of work during this time period. Her thesis is 279 pages long and she published seven articles and gave thirteen presentations. The majority of her work is focused on the preclinical characterization of small molecules for drug discovery.

Nina started as undergraduate student in my group and enrolled in our PhD program in 2011. Her research is focused on the characterization of GABA(A) receptor modulators using automated patch clamp. She has become an expert in electrophysiology and is currently establishing stable cell lines to measure GABA(A) receptor subunit selectivities

The Moszynski outstanding  teaching assistant award 2013

Kelly started in 2010 at UWM and joined my lab in 2011. Since then she taught Chem 100 and Chem103 as well as Chem 344. Kelly is an experienced teaching assistant and brings the necessary patients and understanding in order to teach undergraduate student chemistry. In my group, she is currently developing new VDR-coactivator modulators and is teaching Nick Nassif the ins and outs of research.
